The national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Thursday is $3.858, above Tuesday's price of $3.848. The price was $3.803 a week ago, according to AAA.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Maryland is $3.676, above Wednesday's price of $3.668. One week ago, the price was $3.618.
Virginia
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia has risen to $3.588, above Wednesday's $3.578 price. Last week, the price was $3.577.
Washington, D.C.
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C., is up Thursday at $3.917. Wednesday's price was $3.896; last week, it was $3.901.
California
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in California is up on Thursday at $5.505, above Wednesday's price of $5.484. Last week, the price was $5.359.
New York
In New York, the average price is $3.908, above Wednesday's price of $3.903. Last week, the average price was $3.888.
