The national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Wednesday is $3.827, above Tuesday's price of $3.823. The price was $3.845 a week ago, according to AAA.

Maryland

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Maryland is $3.693, below Tuesday's price of $3.713. One week ago, the price was $3.808.

Virginia

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia has dropped to $3.615, below Tuesday's $3.619 price. Last week, the price was $3.657.

Washington, D.C.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C., is down Wednesday at $3.972. Tuesday's price was $3.979, and last week, it was $4.026.

California

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in California remains startlingly high at $5.294 on Wednesday, 4 cents up from Tuesday. Last week, the price was $5.259.

New York

In New York, the average price is $3.906, the same as it was on Tuesday. Last week, the price was $3.915.
