The national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Wednesday is $3.845, beneath Tuesday's price of $3.854. The price was $3.873 a week ago, according to AAA.

Maryland
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Maryland is $3.808, just below Tuesday's price of $3.809. One week ago, the price was $3.807.
Virginia
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia has dropped to $3.657, below Tuesday's price of $3.662. Last week, the price was $3.668.
Washington, D.C.
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C., is down Wednesday at $4.026. Tuesday's price was $4.042, and last week, it was $4.022.
California
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in California remains startlingly high but dropped one cent from Tuesday to $5.259 on Wednesday. Last week, the price was $5.175.
New York
In New York, the average price is $3.915, 3 cents down from Tuesday. Last week, it was $3.927.

The average price in Texas dropped on Tuesday to $3.458. On Tuesday, it was $3.465, and last week, it was $3.482.
