The national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Thursday is $3.873, a hair below Thursday's price of $3.875. The price was $3.841 a week ago, according to AAA.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Maryland is $3.807, just below Thursday's $3.811 price. One week ago, the price stood at $3.789.
Virginia
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia has risen to $3.679, just above yesterday's price of $3.678. Last week, the price was $3.665.
Washington, D.C.
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C., is slightly up Friday at $4.019. It was 4 cents lower yesterday and 12 cents lower last week.
California
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in California keeps rising and stands at a lofty $5.199 on Friday. On Thursday, the price was $5.182, and one week ago, it was $5.110.
New York
In New York, the average price is $3.926, 1 cent down from Thursday. Last week, it was $3.905.
