The national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Monday is $3.851, above Sunday's price of $3.848. The price was $3.829 a week ago, according to AAA.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Maryland is $3.796, the same as yesterday. On week ago, the price stood at $3.793.
Virginia
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia is $3.666, 2 cents more than Sunday's price. This time last week, it was higher, at $3.673.
Washington, D.C.
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C., keeps rising. On Monday, it stands at $4.018, 1 cent more than on Sunday. Last week, it was $3.931.
California
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in California continues to climb and is significantly above the national average at $5.151. On Sunday, the price was $5.144, and one week ago, it was $5.070.
New York
In New York, the average price is $3.915, 3 cents more than on Sunday. Last week, it was $3.900.
