


Gas prices continue to remain high.
As the 2024 presidential election slowly comes clearer into view, the economy will be on the minds of most, if not all, voters. The price at the pumps is one of the most direct and day-to-day pieces of evidence as to how the economy is faring.

The national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Tuesday is $3.824, slightly below Monday's price of $3.829. The price was $3.780 a week ago, according to AAA.

Maryland
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Maryland is $3.792, 1 cent less than on Monday. One week ago, the price was $3.768.
Virginia
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia is $3.669, beneath Monday's $3.673. This time last week, it was much lower at $3.610.
Washington, D.C.
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C., has shot up again, this time to $3.945 from Monday's price of $3.931. Last week, it was $3.936.
California
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in California continues to climb and is significantly above the national average at $5.075. On Monday, the price was $5.070, and one week ago, it was $5.011.
New York
In New York, the average price is $3.901, one cent higher than on Monday. Last week, the price was $3.839.

Texas
The average price in Texas started steadily declining to $3.467 on Tuesday. On Monday, the price was $3.475, and last week, it was $3.460.
