The national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Friday is $3.732, up from $3.714 on Thursday and $3.587 a week ago, according to AAA.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Maryland is below the national average at $3.717, up from $3.697 on Thursday. One week ago, it was significantly lower at $3.576.
Virginia
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia is $3.544. On Thursday, the price was $3.522, and this time last week, it was $3.418.
Washington, D.C.
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C., is $3.841, up from $3.837 on Thursday. Last week, it was $3.728.
California
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in California is significantly above the national average and has risen quickly to $4.954. On Thursday, the price was $4.935, and one week ago, it was $4.889.
New York
In New York, the average price is $3.788, up from $3.771 on Thursday. Last week, it was $3.683.
