The national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Monday is $3.543, up from $3.538 on Sunday but down from $3.535 a week ago, according to AAA.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Maryland is $3.574, two cents higher than on Sunday. The price has hiked significantly, as one week ago, it was $3.502.
Virginia
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia is $3.350, below the national average. The price was $3.347 on Sunday and $3.307 this time last week.
Washington, D.C.
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C., is $3.692, up 6 cents from Sunday. One week ago, the price was $3.699.
California
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in California is well above the national average at $4.873. On Sunday, the price was $4.869, and one week ago, it was $4.841.
New York
In New York, the average price is $3.677, 1 cent lower than Sunday. Last week, it was $3.683.
