The national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Thursday is $3.549, down from $3.556 on Wednesday and $3.584 a week ago, according to AAA.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Maryland is $3.448, down from $3.450 the day before. One week ago, the price was $3.484.

Virginia

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia is $3.301, solidly below the national average. The price was $3.306 on Wednesday and $3.344 last week at this time.

Washington, D.C.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C., is $3.700, higher than the national average. On Wednesday, it was $3.715, and one week ago, it was $3.752.

California

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in California is well above the national average at $4.827. On Wednesday, it was $4.830, and one week ago, it was $4.859.

New York

In New York, the average price is $3.689, 2 cents lower than on Wednesday. Last week, it was $3.697.

The average price in Texas sits well below the national average at $3.185, compared with $3.197 the day before and $3.214 the week before.
