The national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Monday is $3.573, down one cent from Sunday and five cents from a week ago, according to AAA.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Maryland is $3.466, down from $3.471 the day before. One week ago, the price was $3.447.
Virginia
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia is $3.325, solidly below the national average. The price was $3.328 on Sunday and $3.348 last week at this time.
Washington, D.C.
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C., is $3.734, higher than the national average. On Sunday, it was $3.744, and one week ago, it was $3.714.
California
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in California is well above the national average at $4.843, one cent less than Sunday. One week ago, it was $4.869.
New York
In New York, the average price is $3.693, two cents lower than on Sunday. Last week, it was $3.690.
