The fluctuation of gas prices is something most American households are forced to deal with.

As the 2024 presidential election slowly comes clearer into view, the economy will be on the mind of most, if not all, voters. The price at the pumps is one of the most direct and day-to-day pieces of evidence as to how the economy is faring.

BIDEN’S LAND GRAB HURTS WORKING PEOPLE

The national average for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Wednesday is $3.591, down from $3.592 on Tuesday but up from $3.553 a week ago, according to AAA.

Maryland

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Maryland is $3.447, up from $3.446 on Tuesday. One week ago, the price was $3.431.

Virginia

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia is $3.341, solidly below the national average. The price was $3.326 yesterday, and last week at this time, it was $3.309.

Washington, D.C.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C., is $3.670, higher than the national average. The price the day before was $3.669, and a week ago, it was $3.662.

California

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in California is well above the national average at $4.888. The day before, it was $4.897, and one week ago, it was $4.859.

New York

In New York, as of Wednesday, the average price is $3.692, compared with $3.693 on Monday. Last week, it was $3.698.
