Most households are forced to deal with the constant fluctuation of gas prices.

As the 2024 presidential election slowly comes clearer into view, the economy will be on the mind of most, if not all, voters. The price at the pumps is one of the most direct and day-to-day pieces of evidence as to how the economy is faring.

VIOLENCE AGAINST TEACHERS CANNOT BE TOLERATED

The national average for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Thursday is $3.564, compared with $3.553 on Wednesday and $3.574 a week ago, according to AAA.

Maryland

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Maryland is $3.431, lower than the national average and the same price as the day before. One week ago, the price was $3.488.

Virginia

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia is $3.305, solidly below the national average. Wednesday, the price was $3.309, and last week at this time, the price was $3.337.

Washington, D.C.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C., is $3.664, higher than the national average. The price the day before was $3.662, and a week ago, it was $3.649.

California

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in California is well above the national average at $4.876. The day before, it was $4.859, and one week ago, it was $4.875.

New York

In New York, the average is $3.697, a touch lower than Wednesday's price of $3.698. Last week, it was $3.709.
