


Gas prices remained steady on Monday, at $3.447 for a gallon of regular gas for the second consecutive day, according to AAA.
This is slightly higher than the gas price seven days ago when it cost $3.445 for a gallon of regular. Gas is less expensive than a month ago when the price was $3.597.
Despite a considerable drop in gas prices in California, it remains the state with the highest gas price, standing at $4.839. On the other hand, Mississippi continues to offer the nation’s most affordable gas, priced at $2.919 for a gallon of regular gas.
Gas prices are less expensive than in June 2023, when a gallon of regular gas costs $3.577.

Here are the gas prices for a gallon of regular-grade gas in and around Washington, D.C., and a few other states.
Regular gas costs $3.661 per gallon in the nation’s capital, according to AAA. This is slightly less expensive than the day before when the average price for a gallon of gas in D.C. was $3.665. A week ago, gas cost $3.683 per gallon and a month ago it was $3.710.
The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Virginia is $3.358. This is a decrease from yesterday’s price of $3.364. A week ago it cost $3.342 for a gallon of regular gas and a month ago it was $3.412.
In Maryland, residents experienced a price break at the pumps, with a gallon of regular gas averaging $3.607. While this is higher than the national average, it is actually a slight decrease from yesterday, when gas cost $3.609 per gallon. Both prices, however, are more expensive than a week ago, when it cost $3.530 per gallon. It was also less expensive a month ago to get gas when prices were $3.549.

In Delaware, the average price of regular gas is $3.538 per gallon, slightly more expensive than yesterday’s price of $3.536. This is also considerably more expensive than when a gallon cost $3.427 a week ago. A month ago, a gallon of regular gas was $3.453.
Looking at gas prices in the South, Texas has one of the cheapest prices for a gallon of regular gas, coming in at $3.005. This is the slightest of decreases from yesterday when the price was $3.006 per gallon. A week ago, regular gas in the Lone Star state cost $2.972 per gallon. A month ago, it was $3.173 per gallon.
