Gas prices dropped again on Thursday. The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gasoline is $3.487. 

This was cheaper than Wednesday’s price of $3.503 per gallon, according to AAA. The average cost for a gallon of regular-grade gasoline in the country has continued to drop since shortly before the Memorial Day weekend. 

Moreover, gas prices are officially less expensive than at this time last year, when gas was $3.545 a gallon.

On a more positive note, Mississippi continues to hold its position as the state with the most affordable gas in the nation. A gallon of regular-grade gas in the state is priced at a wallet-friendly $ 2.982. In comparison, regular-grade gas in Oklahoma costs $3.004 per gallon and in Arkansas, it’s priced at $ 3.002 per gallon.

On a more positive note, Mississippi continues to hold its position as the state with the most affordable gas in the nation. California remains the state with the most expensive gas in the country. However, a gallon of regular gas finally broke the $5 a gallon threshold, coming in at $4.98. This is a decrease from yesterday’s price of $5.002 per gallon. A month ago, it was $5.353 per gallon in the Golden State for regular-grade gas.

Here are the gas prices for a gallon of regular-grade gas in and around Washington, D.C., and a few other states.

It costs $3.688 per gallon for regular gas on Thursday in the nation’s capital. While this is more expensive than the average price of regular gas in the country, it does represent a drop from yesterday when gas cost $3.695. A month ago, gas in D.C. was $3.739 per gallon. Gas prices remain more expensive now than a year ago when a gallon of regular gas cost $3.652.

In Maryland, a gallon of regular-grade gas is $3.572 on Thursday. This is a decrease from yesterday’s price of $3.597 per gallon. A month ago, people in Maryland paid $3.662 per gallon for regular gas.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia on Thursday is $3.387. This decreased from yesterday’s average price of $3.402 per gallon. A month ago, regular-grade gas was $3.463 per gallon in Virginia. Gas prices remain more expensive in the state than last year when the cost of regular-grade gas was $3.313 per gallon.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Delaware on Thursday is $3.453. This is slightly cheaper than Wednesday’s gas prices, which cost $3.472 per gallon. A month ago, people in Delaware paid $3.583 per gallon for regular gas.

A gallon of regular-grade gas in Pennsylvania on Thursday cost $3.702. This was a decrease from Wednesday’s price of $3.712. It was also a decrease from a week ago when regular gas was $3.752 per gallon. A month ago in Pennsylvania, gas cost $3.803 per gallon.

Gas prices in New Jersey stood at $3.452 for a gallon of regular-grade gasoline on Thursday. This was cheaper than Wednesday’s price of $3.460. A week ago a gallon of regular cost $3.493 and a month ago it was $3.619.

Gas prices in New York are higher than the national average. A gallon of regular gas in the Empire State will cost $3.640 on Thursday. This was cheaper than yesterday’s price of $3.642. A week ago, regular gas cost $3.667 per gallon. A month ago, it was $3.732 per gallon for regular.
