Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) announced on Thursday that his Senate campaign pulled in more than $3 million in the second quarter.
The Arizona Democrat is looking to win the seat currently held by Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ), who switched her affiliation from Democratic to independent last year. Sinema has yet to announce whether she will seek reelection.

“For the second quarter in a row, over 50,000 people have chipped in what they could to support Ruben’s campaign because they know it’s time to elect a U.S. senator who fights for Arizonans — not special interests or big corporations,” campaign manager Nichole Johnson said in a statement. "With two quarters of momentum and a strong foundation of grassroots support, we are the only team in this race that is built to win."
The campaign noted that it received more than 105,000 donations from 58,533 donors in the quarter. The average donation was $29, and nearly all contributions were $100 or less.
The Arizona Senate race could very well determine which party holds the majority come 2025. The Cook Political Report rates it as a "toss up." Last year, Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) won reelection against Trump-endorsed Republican challenger Blake Masters in a blow to Republicans' hopes for the Senate.

Kari Lake, the Trump-aligned Republican who ran for governor in 2022 against Gov. Katie Hobbs (D-AZ) and lost, is expected to announce her candidacy for the Senate seat in the coming months. Lake challenged the results of her 2022 race in the state and echoes Trump's unfounded claims of fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb announced his Republican bid for Senate in Arizona in April but lacks the same name recognition as Lake among Republicans in the state.
