If I were President Joe Biden, I would have encouraged everyone to “pause” about the prospect of him serving four more years.
Consider just some of his numerous failures as president.
An ineffective COVID action plan. A botched Afghanistan withdrawal and then trying to pressure the country’s president into lying about it. Record-high inflation. Divisive, inflammatory rhetoric befitting of a dictator. Widespread, rampant violent crime. Expensive gas and groceries. A rise of antisemitism on college campuses around the country. A desire to exterminate the lives of children in the womb. And an inability to tell the truth, whether it is fibbing about his ethnic background, church routine, or implying his uncle was eaten by cannibals.
Perhaps this is what Biden was thinking about when he said “pause” after stating “four more years” during a speech at the North America’s Building Trades Unions Legislative Conference on Wednesday, April 24.
Many have claimed it was just the latest malapropism from the octogenarian and leader of the free world. However, it should be considered a warning. It was either yet another example of Biden’s overall incompetence, or one of the rare instances in which Biden was telling the truth and correct about something. Everyone in the country should do what Biden said and pause at the thought of him serving a second term.
It’s a pause well worth considering.

The truth is the country cannot afford another four years of Biden. A weaponized judicial branch and a left-wing agenda-driven bureaucracy that reinforces a dependency on big government have done significant harm to the country. Every day Biden is in office, the country moves further and further away from the ideals and values of the Constitution. The potential consequences of a second term are alarming and should raise serious concerns.
It’s a harrowing thought of the damage he can do in four more years.
We should all pause.
