Former President Donald Trump could "absolutely" be imprisoned if he violates the terms of his release from jail, according to a former judge.

Keisha Lance Bottoms, the former mayor of Atlanta and a one-time attorney, shared her prediction on Sunday, a few days after Trump and most of his co-defendants were released on bond. Bottoms noted that all of the defendants are "out on bond with condition set accordingly" and predicted that if Trump or any of the other defendants violate their conditions, the district attorney's office will go before a judge and "ask that those bonds be revoked," she said during an interview with MSNBC's Inside with Jen Psaki.

DONALD TRUMP TURNS ATTENTION BACK TO JACK SMITH OVER SLOWING DOWN TRIAL

"We’ve seen that happen; as I mentioned, there is a big case going on right now, a big RICO trial with YSL group going on right now in Fulton County," said Bottoms. "We’ve seen the district attorney asked for some of those bonds to be revoked, and they have made it very clear that they will not treat these defendants any differently. And so, I think that it would be at their own risk of freedom to test the limits of the district attorney in this case."

Bottoms added that it was "absolutely" possible for Trump to go to jail for violating their terms of release, noting that the judge in this case has had the opportunity to "waive certain conditions," such as taking mugshots of the defendants.

"This judge has not done that," said Bottoms. "So I don’t expect that they will be treated any differently, just as they’ve not been treated differently during this entire process."

All of the mugshots of the defendants have been released online as of Friday morning, with most of the defendants released on bond. Trump, for example, was released on Thursday via a $200,000 bond.

When asked how District Attorney Fani Willis deals with the "attacks" issued at her by Trump and his supporters, Bottoms described Willis as "fearless" and that when she and Willis used to work at a community-based law firm, Willis was always fearless "even when we should have had fear."

"I believe the more that there's an attempt to intimidate her... you will see her really focus on getting a conviction and making sure that she sends a very big and stern message that this won't be allowed in the state of Georgia."

"So she is not afraid," said Bottoms. "And I believe the more that there is an attempt to intimidate her, I think the more that you will see her really focus on getting a conviction and making sure that she sends a very big and stern message that this won’t be allowed in the state of Georgia."

In the wake of Trump's release on bond, he has been selling merchandise containing the photo of his mugshot, raising over $7 million since Thursday evening. On Friday alone, Trump raised $4.18 million for his 2024 presidential election campaign, according to reports.

Jen Psaki, a former White House press secretary for President Joe Biden who has her own show on MSNBC, has stated that Trump is wearing the mugshot "like a badge of honor."
