


Several states are wrapping up the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, for August, sending out remaining payments over the course of next week.
Arizona, Arkansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Wisconsin will send out the final food stamps payments to recipients next week. Each state's payment schedule varies, with most states distributing payments over the course of anywhere from 10 to 20 days, on average.

All U.S. states except Alaska and Hawaii send out the same maximum payments. SNAP-eligible households of one can receive a minimum of $23 and a maximum of $281, a household of four can collect up to $939, and a household of nine can collect up to $1,902.
Households with members of more than nine can receive up to $211 in additional SNAP benefits
Here are the dates on which these eight states will stop sending out SNAP benefits for this month.
Aug. 13 — Arizona and Arkansas
Arizona and Arkansas will end their programs on Sunday, after starting on the 1st and 4th of the month, respectively.
In Arizona, approximately 11% of the population, or 825,700 people, receives food stamps. The average payment per household member per month is $183.
The average payment per household member per month in Arkansas is $170. About 281,100 people, or 9% of the population, receive SNAP benefits.
Aug. 14 — Maine, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania
Maine, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania will stop sending their payments on Aug. 14, with Maine having one of the shortest SNAP programs.
Massachusetts started on Aug. 1, and Pennsylvania started on Aug. 3. Maine began on Aug. 10.
In Maine, the average payment per household member per month is $168. About 12% of the population, or 161,800 people, receive food stamps.
Massachusetts SNAP recipients make up approximately 15% of the population. The average payment per household member per month is $188.
The Keystone State gives SNAP payments to almost 1.84 million people. Pennsylvania food stamp recipients make up 14% of the population, with an average payment of $182 per household member.
Aug. 15 — Utah and Wisconsin
Utah and Wisconsin will end their SNAP program on Aug. 15. Utah is the only state that sends out food stamps on three days: the 5th, 11th, and 15th of the month. Wisconsin, like most states, began on Aug. 1.
Approximately 708,200 people, or 12% of the population in Wisconsin, receive food stamps. The average payment per household member per month is $164.
Utah food stamp recipients make up 5% of the population. The average payment per household member per month is $179.

Aug. 19 — Kentucky
Kentucky is one of the longest SNAP programs, beginning on Aug. 1 and ending on Aug. 19.
Approximately 12% of the population receives food stamps, amounting to 541,600 people. The average payment per household member per month is $177.
