New Jersey will finish distributing all August food stamps, worth up to $1,691, to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program recipients on Saturday.

In the Garden State, the benefits are sent out the first five days of each month depending on the seventh digit of a beneficiary's case number, according to the electronic benefits transfer app Providers. Those living in Warren County receive their payments on the first day of every month, regardless of the case number.

The monthly amount for eligible SNAP recipients can be accessed through a Families First electronic benefits transfer card, according to New Jersey's Department of Human Services. The Families First card can be swiped like a debit card at checkout in most grocery stores and some participating farmers markets.

The SNAP benefits schedule for fiscal 2023 began on Oct. 1 and will end on Sept. 30.
