


Maine residents who receive food stamps will see their benefits for August within the next three days.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program in the Pine Tree State delivers monthly payments from the 10th through the 14th of each month, with beneficiaries receiving their benefits for August between now and Monday.

SNAP benefits in Maine are delivered based on the recipient's date of birth. Those born on days ending in zero or nine received their benefits on Thursday, and those born on days ending in one or eight will see their benefits on Friday.
For the rest of the food stamp recipients, those born on days ending in two or three will get their benefits on Aug. 12, those born on days ending in four or seven will receive their benefits on Aug. 13, and people born on days ending in five or six will see their monthly benefits on Aug. 14.

To qualify for the program, applicants must meet income requirements based on household size. A person may make a maximum annual income of $26,973 for a single-person household or $65,009 for a household of five in the Pine Tree State. The maximum income requirements vary by household size.
In the Pine Tree State, the food stamps program sends out different payment amounts depending on a variety of factors, but the average benefit per household is $168 per month. Benefits are loaded onto EBT cards for recipients and may be used to purchase groceries and seeds at eligible stores. Further information on eligible items is available on the state's website.
