Kansas residents eligible for payments through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program can collect up to $1,504 in food stamps in six days.

The Sunflower State sends out food stamps beginning August 1, and payments continue until August 10. Payments are typically issued to recipients on the same day every month, with the exact arrival date varying based on a beneficiaries' Social Security number, case number, account number, or last name.

In Kansas, the maximum net benefit for eligible recipients is $1,074 for a household of one, $2,587 for a household of five, and $3,722 for a household of eight. For each person in the household that exceeds eight, $379 is added to the maximum net income.

Maximum SNAP payments are $250 for a household of one, $835 for a household of four, and $1,504 for a household of eight. For each additional household member, the program includes $188.

In 2021, the Kansas Department for Children and Families announced that Kansas residents would receive a 10% increase in their food stamps from pre-March 2021 levels. The department had temporarily increased benefits by 15% between March 2021 to September 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic but ended that at the beginning of October 2021.

Approximately 7% of the Kansas population receives SNAP benefits, amounting to 195,800 people. The average payment per household member is $171.
