Benefits for SNAP recipients are distributed based on the last two digits of client IDs.
Those with client IDs ending in 00-09 receive their benefits on the 5th, client IDs ending in 10-19 receive their benefits on the 7th, client IDs ending in 20-29 receive their benefits on the 9th, client IDs ending in 30-39 receive their benefits on the 11th, client IDs ending in 40-49 receive their benefits on the 13th, client IDs ending in 50-59 receive their benefits on the 15th, client IDs ending in 60-69 receive their benefits on the 17th, client IDs ending in 70-79 receive their benefits on the 19th, client IDs ending in 80-89 receive their benefits on the 21st, and client IDs ending in 90-99 receive their benefits on the 23rd.
In Georgia, the average benefit payment per household member is $188, with about 15% of the state's population receiving assistance paying for food via SNAP. The number of SNAP recipients in Georgia is approximately 1.6 million.
SNAP benefits can be used for food, groceries to prepare, and seeds, but they cannot be used to purchase prepared meals from grocery stores or restaurants. The state says that ice, water, and room temperature foods that are "not designed to be consumed in the store" may be purchased with SNAP benefits.

Benefits are loaded onto an electronic benefit transfer card, allowing beneficiaries to purchase eligible items at stores. Beneficiaries can purchase food items with their EBT card in-store and online at eligible retailers.
The maximum annual income permitted to be eligible for SNAP in Georgia depends on household size. For a household of one, the maximum annual income is $18,954, and for a household of five the maximum annual income is $45,682.
