Eligible people in low-income households living in Texas who receive SNAP benefits should see their payments by Saturday. Texas has a long window for issuing payments, lasting through the first 10 business days of the month. When those who are eligible receive their payment depends on the last digit of their Eligibility Determination Group number.

The amount received depends on one's family size. A single household will get $281, and an eight-member household will receive $1,691, according to Texas's Health and Human Services Commission website.
The funds will be deposited on a Lone Star Card, which can then be used like a credit card. SNAP benefits can only be spent on food and drink — alcoholic beverages are excluded.

Recipients ages 16-59 must also follow work rules. Participants must be either working in a job, actively seeking one, or working in another approved work program. Recipients cannot quit their job without good reason.
SNAP is active across all states and Washington, D.C., with benefits being loaded on cards reminiscent of Texas's Lone Star Card.
