The day on which a beneficiary receives the benefits depends on the eighth digit of their Social Security number.
Those with zero as their eighth digit received their benefits on Aug. 2, those with 1 as their eighth digit got their payment on Aug. 3, people with 2 as their eighth digit received their benefits on Aug. 5, those with 3 as their eighth digit received their monthly payment on Aug. 6, and those with 4 as their eighth digit got their benefits on Aug. 8.
Beneficiaries who have yet to receive their benefits include those with eighth digits between 5 and 9, who will see their benefits between Aug. 9-15. Benefits are loaded on a Wisconsin QUEST card for recipients to purchase items in stores.
To qualify for the program, applicants must be making less than a certain yearly income depending on household size. For example, a household of one may not be making more than $29,160 per year before taxes.
