For example, if a case number ends in 1, California recipients can expect to see their CalFresh benefits on Dec. 1. If a case number ends in 2, CalFresh benefits will be available on Dec. 2. The distribution continues until Dec. 10, when those with a case number ending in 0 will receive their payment.
To qualify for SNAP, California households must have a monthly gross income at or below 130% of the federal poverty level. The amount an eligible household receives depends on multiple factors, including household size, income limits, and additional assets. The maximum payment is $291 for a household of one, $973 for a household of four, and $1,751 for a household of eight. Up to $219 is added to a household's food stamps for each member after eight.
