


Eligible recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program in Alaska will receive their payments on Tuesday.
Alaska is one of four states that send out payments to every SNAP-participating household regardless of case number or last name on the first of the month. The other three states that send out all payments on Aug. 1 are North Dakota, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

About 92,100 people receive food stamps in the Last Frontier state. This makes up about 12% of the Alaskan population. The average payment per household member per month is $271.
SNAP recipients' maximum monthly payment varies based on what region the household is in. Alaska is split into three regions for food stamp payments: Urban, Rural I, and Rural II.
Eligible households living in the "Urban" region will receive a maximum payment of $230 for a household of one, $767 for a household of four, and $1,382 for a household of eight. After eight, a maximum of $173 is added for each additional member.

In the "Rural I" region, the maximum payment for a household of one is $293. A household of four can receive up to $979, and up to $1,762 is given to a household of eight. For each additional person, a maximum of $220 is added to the payment.
For "Rural II," maximum payments are $357 for a household of one, $1,191 for a household of four, and $2,145 for a household of eight, with a maximum of $268 added for each additional member.
