Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) spoke out against the various public disruptions that pro-Palestinian protesters have conducted over the last few days, claiming that they are not acting “righteous.”
Fetterman made his statement on X, where he reposted video of several protesters chanting inside a Starbucks in Ann Arbor, Michigan. One of the protesters was seen shouting into a megaphone, while another was shouting “Shame on you” to the various customers enjoying their coffee in the restaurant.
“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but blocking a bridge or berating folks in Starbucks isn’t righteous, it just makes you an a**hole,” Fetterman wrote on X. “Demand Hamas to send every hostage back home and surrender.”
Fetterman’s comment on protesters blocking bridges was referencing various protests by pro-Palestinian protesters on Monday, when multiple roads on major roadways were blocked. One of the protests took place along the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, with traffic getting blocked both ways.

Another major protest on Monday was held on the westbound Interstate 190, which leads to the O’Hare International Airport in Chicago. The protest caused major traffic delays, prompting some passengers to abandon their cars and walk to the airport.
Fetterman has been vocal about his support for Israel in the wake of the Oct. 7 attack on the country by the Hamas terrorist group, stating that he fully supports the country “neutralizing the terrorists responsible for this barbarism.” In January, pro-Palestinian protesters protested outside his home in Braddock, Pennsylvania, with Fetterman going to his rooftop and waving an Israel flag in response.
