A Florida woman who authors feminist literature was jailed Saturday after she allegedly threw wine at Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) during a weekend wine festival.
Tallahassee native Selena Chambers was charged with one count of simple battery and one count of battery on an elected official after she saw Gaetz at the South Walton Beaches Wine and Food Festival and threw her drink at the congressman, according to a report.

Chambers, a 41-year-old author of feminist horror stories, cursed at Gaetz and his wife before throwing the wine, a witness said.
After showering Gaetz in wine, Chambers attempted to leave while holding up her middle finger, the report noted.
A witness who was next to Gaetz and was also hit by the drink alerted authorities, who detained Chambers.
The author told police she had been drinking, but she said she tripped, and her drink accidentally spilled on Gaetz, according to the report.
A friend of Chambers also said they were the one who cursed at Gaetz, not Chambers, who was identified by Gaetz's office as a "a registered Democrat and self-described member of the 'Resistance.'"

"I will be pressing charges against this individual in order to uphold the civility our community deserves," the congressman said. "Thank you to the Walton County Sheriff’s office for taking swift action."
Chambers was released from Walton County Jail Sunday on a $1,000 bond and pending trial.
