FBI Director Christopher Wray will testify before the House Judiciary Committee on July 12, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Wray’s testimony will come amid heightened tensions between House Republicans and the Department of Justice following the indictment of former President Donald Trump on 37 felony charges and frustrations surrounding Hunter Biden's plan to plead guilty to three federal charges, two misdemeanor tax charges and one felony gun charge, but likely avoid jail time.

The news of Wray’s impending testimony was first reported by Punchbowl News.

Many Republicans, including the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), have accused the FBI and the DOJ of being biased and "weaponized" toward investigating and prosecuting Republicans.

His testimony will also come as the House Oversight Committee is digging into an unverified FBI-generated FD-1023 document recounting allegations that then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden were each involved in a $5 million bribery scheme with the head of Ukrainian energy company Burisma in return for helping the company shake an investigation. Hunter Biden sat on the board of Burisma.
