On Thursday, the Republican-majority House of Representatives passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which would bar biological men from participating in women's sports.

According to the bill, the determination of gender to compete would be “based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.”

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) made his disapproval of the measure known on social media.

"These creeps want to invade our kids’ locker rooms. I’m voting against it," he wrote Thursday morning in response to a video of Republican women representatives voicing their support for the bill.

He also took a shot at House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who celebrated the bill's passage in the House.

"What a creep. Kevin McCarthy wants to invade school locker rooms and inspect the genitals of our kids. Hell no," he wrote.

Swalwell's swipe at his Republican women colleagues was in response to a video from a press conference led by Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY).

"Today, we will pass this historic legislation to protect women and girls in sports," Stefanik said.

Swalwell isn't the first Democratic representative to voice similar concerns.

“This is a creepy bill,” Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA), vice chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, said on Tuesday. “The only way to enforce this bill is to empower school officials to inspect the genitals of kids. ... Let's work on actual things that matter to the American people.”

Several red states have enacted similar legislation to protect women's sports. A reported 21 states bar biological men from participating in women's sports, including Montana, Idaho, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Utah, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Kansas, West Virginia, Wyoming, Indiana, and Mississippi.

Earlier this month, the White House said in a statement, “If the President were presented with H.R. 734, he would veto it.”

President Joe Biden's administration further proposed a new regulation that would require schools to allow elementary students to compete on the sports teams that align with their gender identity.

However, several states have vowed to take the administration to court if this measure moves forward.

“I will continue to use every tool in my arsenal to fight for equal opportunities for women and girls and uphold Montana’s law against federal overreach,” Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen said of the proposed regulation.

Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) warned Biden, "We’ll see you in Court."
