Former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom slammed Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s admitting that the Biden-Harris administration pressured his social media company to censor COVID-19-related content, calling it “election interference” and “treason.”
Zuckerberg’s admittance came in a letter he wrote to the House Judiciary Committee this week.
“I think it’s a little too late, buddy,” Freedom told Fox News in response. “Please do not let him off the hook. They knew what they were doing.”
The former athlete, now a human rights activist, did not hold back his stance on the admission of guilt from Zuckerberg’s letter. Freedom said censorship is a clear “violation of the First Amendment.”
Former President Donald Trump has also claimed Zuckerberg called the GOP nominee to apologize for a “mistake.” The apology led the 2024 Republican presidential nominee to caution Google to “be careful” with censorship, suggesting Meta is not the only platform guilty of it.

Earlier this week, Zuckerberg promised Congress that he would fight any future pressure from the White House on censorship and would donate “Zuckerbucks” in this year’s election.
“I feel strongly that we should not compromise our content standards due to pressure from any administration in either direction—and we’re ready to push back if something like this happens again,” Zuckerberg wrote.
