Billionaire Elon Musk suggested Thursday that Disney CEO Bob Iger should be "fired immediately" over the company's decision to continue advertising on Meta platforms.

Musk's comment comes after New Mexico's attorney general filed a civil lawsuit on Wednesday against Meta and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, alleging that two of Meta's biggest platforms, Facebook and Instagram, created "prime locations" for sexual predators. Disney has continued to advertise on both platforms, even though it boycotted advertising on X, formerly known as Twitter, over fears that its ads would be displayed next to far-right messages.

"Bob Eiger thinks it's cool to advertise next to child exploitation material," Musk wrote on X. "Real stand up guy."

Musk then responded to another user asking why Iger had not yet been fired from his position, stating he should be "fired immediately." He also said it is "crazy that Disney has to be sued" to stop advertising on Meta platforms.

"Walt Disney is turning in his grave over what Bob has done to his company," Musk wrote.

Besides Disney, other platforms that have halted advertising on X but not on Facebook or Instagram include Apple, Warner Bros. Discovery, Comcast, and IBM.

Musk speaking out against Iger and Disney comes after he shared support for Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), joining the governor live on X when DeSantis announced his run for president. The Florida governor has been in a legal battle with Disney for most of 2023 after the company sued DeSantis, alleging government power has been weaponized against the company.

Disney argued in the suit that the state and DeSantis violated the company's First Amendment right to free speech by working to strip control of the special taxing district encompassing the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The actions taken by DeSantis against Disney came after the company spoke out against Florida's Parental Rights in Education bill.
