


Elon Musk took a shot at Barbie as the Greta Gerwig-directed film continues to shatter box office expectations.
Musk's jab at the film came after a Twitter user compared the platform's rebranding and the change of its logo from a bird to an "X" to leaving a theater screening Barbie for one screening Oppenheimer.

The billionaire's bashing of the film for its "woke" content follows in a similar to fashion to conservatives who have criticized Barbie for its excessive use of the word "patriarchy" and purported liberal themes and messaging.

Not only does it have a 90% rating from both critics and fans on Rotten Tomatoes, but it also raked in over $162 million in its domestic debut, becoming the most successful North American opening for a film directed solely by a woman, according to a report.
The movie also smashed records for the best opening weekend of 2023 and best debut for a non-superhero film or sequel, the report noted.
