EXCLUSIVE — A super PAC affiliated with 2024 presidential candidate Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND) is launching a new ad in Iowa, home to the first-in-the-nation caucuses, that touts the governor as the person needed for a "changing economy."
The Best of America PAC's thirty-second "New Leader" ad, shared first with the Washington Examiner, will air in Iowa starting Wednesday and is the second ad of the PAC's $3.9 million television ad campaign that was unveiled last week.

"Governor Burgum is the new leader our country needs for a changing economy," said Emily Benavides, Best of America PAC spokesperson. "Governor Burgum's experience as a conservative entrepreneur and business leader led him to pass the largest tax cut in North Dakota's history, balance the budget, and eliminate red tape to kick-start innovation. This new ad will ensure that people across the country know that Governor Burgum is the candidate to turn around our economy and unleash America's potential."
The ad spotlights Burgum slamming President Joe Biden's handling of the economy before a voiceover lauds his economic record. "America needs a hundred and eighty-degree change from the direction where Joe Biden is taking us right now," the governor said in the clip. "Joe Biden's wrong on the economy. He's wrong on energy and he's wrong on national security.
"As North Dakota governor, Burgum supercharged the economy by passing the largest tax cut in state history, cutting spending by billions, balancing the budget, and eliminating red tape," a narrator said after the governor. "Conservative Doug Burgum — a new leader for a changing economy."

Best of America PAC's $3.9 million ad campaign will boost Burgum in both Iowa and New Hampshire, the first two nominating states in the GOP presidential primary that will likely winnow the 2024 field and establish which campaigns have momentum. The "Believe" radio and television ad was the first the PAC boosted and has been ongoing since July.
Burgum's campaign announced last month that he met the requirements to participate in the Republican National Committee's presidential primary debate next week but it remains to be seen if he'll meet the RNC's more stringent donor and polling requirements for the second debate in September. Although the governor remains popular in North Dakota, he tends to poll at 1% or below in several national polls.
