NextImg:Donald Trump takes aim at judge and Letitia James after gag order lifted temporarily

Former President Donald Trump called out the "Ridiculous and Unconstitutional" gag order placed on him by Judge Arthur Engoron in his fraud trial after an appeals court stayed the order.

Trump, in a lengthy post on Truth Social on Thursday night, went after Engoron and New York Attorney General Letitia James, who is prosecuting the fraud case against the former president's organization in the Empire State.

"Judge Arthur Engoron has just been overturned (stayed!) by the New York State Appellate Division (Appeals Court), for the 4th TIME (on the same case!). His Ridiculous and Unconstitutional Gag Order, not allowing me to defend myself against him and his politically biased and out of control, Trump Hating Clerk, who is sinking him and his Court to new levels of LOW, is a disgrace. They are defending the Worst and Least Respected Attorney General in the United States, Letitia James, who is a Worldwide disgrace, as is her illegal Witch Hunt against me," Trump said in the post.

"The Radical and Unprecedented actions of Judge Engoron will keep BUSINESSES and JOBS forever out of New York State. I have done NOTHING WRONG, my numbers were low, not high, I have a COMPLETE DISCLAIMER CLAUSE, their Star Witness admitted he lied and made up this Fake case against me, and the the Attorney General used a 'Get Trump' platform in order to run for A.G. & Governor (she failed!). This wicked attack on Democracy must be ended, NOW!" the post continued.

The lengthy post comes hours after a New York appeals court opted to freeze the gag order temporarily after Trump's lawyers had filed an emergency lawsuit on Wednesday against the order.

James levied the $250 million fraud case against the former president last year. Engoron has already found Trump liable for the fraud claims, but now the nonjury trial will proceed to examine six claims brought by James.

Trump is seeking a mistrial in the case over allegations that his trial has not been conducted with impartiality.
