A string of bizarre and disruptive sex toy incidents is plaguing the WNBA, forcing arrests, triggering investigations, and getting people talking – including Donald Trump Jr.

Donald Trump Jr. posted a photo to his Instagram Thursday, seemingly mocking the incidents with a photo of WNBA players playing basketball at the White House and President Trump on the roof, throwing a green dildo.

Trump Jr.’s post comes after sex toys were thrown onto the court during multiple WNBA games across the country — from Atlanta and Chicago to Los Angeles and Phoenix since July 28. In one case, a toy nearly struck Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham during a game against the Sparks.

The most recent incident happened Thursday night in Chicago, when a sex toy hit the court during the final seconds of the Atlanta Dream’s victory over the Sky. The behavior, which some online have brushed off as a prank, has become increasingly disruptive and dangerous — with players and league officials demanding accountability.

Why are dildos being thrown in the first place?

On July 28, a group of crypto enthusiasts created Green Dildo Coin as an online meme in protest of what they call a “toxic” environment in the cryptocurrency world. This was the same day as the first sex toy incident.

Members of Green Dildo are advised to “only throw their green-branded items if there is a level of personal comfort and the objects can land without hitting anyone,” a spokesperson said in an interview with USA Today.
