New York City Mayor Eric Adams says the city is prepared for the arrival of former President Donald Trump for his arraignment in Manhattan on Tuesday.
Adams said he has a "lack of concern" over the arrival of Trump, crediting the capabilities of the New York City Police Department.

"I have a lack of concern, I know how well the New York City Police Department is able to pivot and shift based on the circumstances they are facing. We are prepared. The police commissioner gave me a briefing, she understands this is a unique situation, and the New York City Police Department is fully prepared with the coordination that deputy mayor Banks is doing with our other law enforcement entities. I have no concern around this," Adams said.
Adams had brought up Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) when discussing "rabble-rousers" who he feels could cause trouble, but said they are prepared for people who "stir stuff up."
"People stir stuff up all the time and if you are prepared, you don’t have to get prepared. And we are prepared. The ability to shift resources to where they are needed is extremely unique to this police department. We can manage several different things at one time in this department," Adams said.
Adams has said residents in the city should use public transit over the next two days to avoid the road closures and traffic stemming from the former president's visit. Police have begun to put up barricades and have patrols set up outside the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse.
After the indictment of Trump came down on Thursday, NYPD told officers to show up at 7 a.m. on Friday in "full uniform."
Trump is expected to land at LaGuardia Airport in Queens on Monday afternoon and spend the rest of the day at his apartment at Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan. He is expected to have a brief appearance at the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse on Tuesday for his arraignment.
The former president has already announced he will be delivering a speech at his Mar-a-Lago resort Tuesday night.

The charges in the indictment against Trump are not publicly known because, per New York state law, the indictment must remain sealed until he can be arraigned.
The indictment appears to have stemmed from an investigation by prosecutors in New York City into allegedly falsified business records regarding a $130,000 reimbursement of Trump's then-lawyer Michael Cohen for paying off porn star Stormy Daniels to stay quiet about an alleged affair she had with Trump. The payment was made in 2016, as Trump was running for president.
