Former President Donald Trump fired off a series of Truth Social posts on Thursday ahead of his commute to Washington, D.C., for his third arraignment this year, saying, "I am being arrested for you."
"I need one more indictment to ensure my election!" he wrote before noon on Thursday, adding in a later post: "I am now going to Washington, D.C., to be arrested for having challenged a corrupt, rigged & stolen election. It is a great honor, because I am being arrested for you."

Trump departed Thursday afternoon from his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey, en route to Newark Airport for his arraignment in D.C. He is slated to be arraigned at the E. Barrett Prettyman federal courthouse at about 4 p.m. local time.
The courthouse is located less than half a mile from the U.S. Capitol, and security measures have been fortified in recent days around the courthouse, including barriers and a heightened police presence.
The former president will be arrested and taken into custody, where he will be fingerprinted. Similar to his last two indictments in Florida and New York, he will not have a mug shot taken. He is expected to enter a plea during the proceeding and has pleaded not guilty during his past two arraignments this year.
It is not immediately clear if Trump will address the press during his short stay in the nation's capital.
The former president was indicted earlier this week related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election and the subsequent Jan. 6 Capitol riot, which took place in early 2021 just feet away from the courthouse.

Trump faces four separate federal charges: one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States, one count of conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, one count of obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and one count of conspiracy against rights.
Outside the courthouse, a handful of Trump's supporters were outnumbered by a high volume of press members present for the arraignment, though most supporters of the former president carried flags, wore shirts, or held signs indicating some form of support.
