NextImg:Donald Trump arrested: What to expect when former president turns himself in to Fulton County Jail

Former President Donald Trump is set to be booked in Fulton County, Georgia, on Thursday after being indicted for a fourth time this year.

Trump was indicted earlier this month on racketeering charges along with 18 other co-defendants as part of sweeping charges for his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election in the Peach State. Here is what to expect from the booking process in Fulton County for the former president.

UP FOR DEBATE: WHERE TRUMP, DESANTIS, AND REST OF REPUBLICAN 2024 FIELD STAND ON KEY ISSUES

When will Trump be booked?

Trump is expected to surrender himself at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta in the evening hours of Thursday. While no time has been confirmed, the Federal Aviation Administration has issued temporary flight restrictions for the area, a radius of 1 nautical mile around the jail from 6:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern time.

What happens when Trump is booked?

When Trump is booked, he will be subject to regular treatment from law enforcement, according to authorities. He will not be incarcerated, as his lawyers have negotiated a $200,000 bond for his release. The bond agreement includes assurances that the former president can not intimidate any witnesses or communicate directly or indirectly about the facts of the case against him with any of the 18 co-defendants except through his lawyers.

Will Trump have a mug shot taken?

The former president will likely have his mug shot taken, unlike in his previous indictments, and will also likely be fingerprinted by authorities.

Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat said earlier this month that if Trump were indicted, he would be subject to "normal practices," including taking a mug shot. Trump's co-defendants in the case, including former lawyers for the former president Rudy Giuliani, Jenna Ellis, and Sydney Powell, have had their mug shots taken and were released by officials in Fulton County, following regular procedures.

What happens next?

Trump will not be arraigned on Thursday, meaning he will have to return to the Peach State for his arraignment on the racketeering charges at some point in the future. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has proposed in her scheduling order that Trump and other defendants be arraigned the week of Sept. 5, but no timetable has been confirmed.

Trump's indictment in Fulton County is the fourth time he has been indicted in 2023, with previous charges being pressed in Manhattan for alleged falsification of business records, in a federal court in Florida for alleged mishandling of classified documents, and in a federal courthouse in Washington, D.C., for his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

The former president is the front-runner in the 2024 Republican presidential primary, but he did not participate in the first Republican debate on Wednesday.
