


Trump railed against his indictment and arrest Tuesday night from Mar-a-Lago. He said the United States is "going to Hell."
The former president pleaded not guilty earlier in the day at his arraignment in New York City. He portrayed himself as a vigorous defender of the country. The fiery statements were Trump's first since turning himself in to authorities in on Tuesday.
Trump became the first U.S. president to be criminally indicted in history Thursday.

“The only crime I’ve committed is to furiously defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it,” he told a crowd of cheering supporters.
"Our country is going to Hell," he went on to say. Trump described his time since his exit from office as, "the most embarrassing time in our country's history, in my opinion."

Trump was arrested and arraigned on Tuesday. He was charged with 34 counts of business fraud, and he is not expected in court again until December.
