I wrote last week about how legacy media is the enemy of all good and decent things in our society, but their consistently horrific advice to parents is truly something to behold.
This week NBC News medical fellow Akshay Syal discussed the epidemic of childhood obesity , which affects one in five Americans aged 2 to 19. While this problem is correctly diagnosed, the prescription should not surprise you: Drugs .
NO PLACE FOR YOUNG CHILDRENThe piece goes on to discuss the ins and outs of giving weight loss medication to children. Syal does cite “experts” who admit that diet and exercise are still important and quotes the Collaborative of Eating Disorder Organizations, which warns that the use of weight loss drugs among children “will contribute to an increase in eating disorders,” but the normalization of giving such drugs to minors is pervasive throughout.
Drugging children is not a new mission for the press. Journalists cheered when the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention voted to recommend adding the COVID-19 vaccine to the childhood vaccine schedule despite no evidence that it is beneficial to children in any meaningful way. Big Pharma and its allies in the media and government have pushed the overmedication of children with ADHD for a generation. Apparently, every problem looks like a child’s arm if all you have is a syringe. Think what you will about Democratic presidential candidate RFK Jr. and his conspiracy theories, but the media reacted to his child vaccine skepticism with the zealotry of medieval priests in search of heretics.
Nor do journalists have children's best interests at heart in other areas. Whether they truly believe in forcing every child ( besides their own , of course) into failed government indoctrination camps, or whether they are simply defending their friends at the Democratic National Committee and the teachers' unions, the media have been laser-focused on stopping the school choice movement that is currently sweeping the country. Despite evidence that school choice benefits all demographics, expect legacy media to oppose it in perpetuity.
CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINERNo Republican has been attacked more by the corporate press in the last two years than Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), and while his 20-point reelection last year is concerning to the Left, his championing of parental rights is the real reason for the media’s vitriol. The media dubbed Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Act the “ Don’t say gay ” bill, despite the new law’s purpose of banning the teaching of gender theory to prepubescent children. Journalists redoubled their efforts to bring down the Florida governor when he signed legislation into law banning the removal or mutilation of a child’s healthy reproductive organs.
Legacy media apparently wants your child to be stuck in dangerous public schools, to be overmedicated in perpetuity, and to be indoctrinated into gender confusion. I hope and pray you have trusted advisers in your life who can point you in the right direction, especially if you are, like me, a new parent. But whatever you do, do not take parenting advice from the media. They do not have your family’s best interests at heart.
