Country legend Dolly Parton wowed fans across the United States with her NFL halftime show on Thanksgiving, including the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders who joined in on the show.

Parton, 77, wore the Dallas cheerleaders’ iconic white shorts and cropped vest with blue stars while performing some of her most celebrated songs, from "Jolene" to "9 to 5.” She also sang covers of Queen classics "We Are the Champions" and "We Will Rock You" as she promoted her latest album, Rockstar.

“All of our jaws dropped on the side because we’re thinking, ‘Dolly Parton wants to dress like us?’ cheerleader McKenzie told Inside Edition. “Her kindness is just contagious. She’s so genuine. She was joking around a little bit, definitely showing her personality. But when we got to the rehearsal space, it was like: ‘This is what I have to get done. This is how many times we’re going to do it. This is where I’m standing.’ And it made our job a lot easier.”

Former Cowboys cheerleaders also praised Parton’s performance.

“I just was shocked that she was wearing the uniform, and that she wore it so well at her age,” said Cindy Bennett, who now participates with charity groups Dallas Cowboys Alumni Cheerleaders and the NFL Pro Cheerleaders Alumni Cheerleaders/DFW Chapter.

Parton’s performance was part of the Cowboys' annual tradition of hosting a football game on Thanksgiving, which this year featured the Washington Commanders. Dallas beat the Commanders 45-10. The halftime show was sponsored by the Salvation Army.

“I am so proud to have kicked off the giving season with my Red Kettle Kickoff performance!” Parton wrote ahead of the show on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Every dollar you give to [Salvation Army] helps your neighbors in need during the holidays and all year long.”
