


A children's book based on the popular R-rated Alien film franchise is scheduled to release next year, with its listing being spotted by the public late Wednesday evening.
The book, A is for Alien: An ABC Book, is a part of the Little Golden Books line and is illustrated by the Disney Storybook Art Team. The book is targeted to children between the ages of 2 and 5 and is set to be released on July 9, 2024, according to the book's listing on Penguin Random House.

"In space no one can hear you giggle as you read this Little Golden Book featuring the characters from the classic movie Alien!" The book's description reads. "Follow Ripley and the rest of the Nostromo crew on a space adventure that introduces the alphabet from A to Z."

The book's cover features Ripley, Sigourney Weaver's character in the Alien franchise, holding a cat while looking at a xenomorph alien. The description of the book claims that the Alien franchise, which is based on science-fiction horror, has been "an iconic franchise that has thrilled viewers around the world" since 1979.

In 2019, the Walt Disney Company purchased 21st Century Fox for $71.3 billion, making Disney the owner of various Fox properties, including the Alien franchise. Other franchises Disney netted through this acquisition include the Avatar film series and The Simpsons television series.
