NextImg:Disney burned its reputation to demand first graders learn about sexual attraction

Disney’s decision to jump into a political battle in Florida at the behest of whiny activists has left the company in an undoubtedly worse position as it is now struggling reputationally and financially relative to its previous position.

Disney dropped 12 spots in the Axios and Harris poll that measures the reputations of businesses and corporations. It is now ranked as the fifth most polarizing brand behind the Trump Organization, the Fox Corporation, and Hobby Lobby, which are all hated by liberals to varying degrees — Hobby Lobby still scores a better reputation than Disney — along with the fraud-ridden crypto company FTX. Disney is more polarizing than Pfizer, Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter.

BIDEN AND REPUBLICANS BLAME EACH OTHER FOR DEFAULT THEY INSIST WON'T HAPPEN

Disney’s reputation score from 2016 to 2019 would have put it in the top 10 of this year’s poll. Instead, it sits at 77th. It dropped 14 points among Republicans in the last year alone, and now only a minority of Republicans describe the company as family-orientated.

Meanwhile, Disney is going through its third round of layoffs, with the goal being to cut 7,000 jobs through all three rounds. That plan was announced in February. The company recently saw its biggest stock decline in six months after announcing that Disney+ lost 4 million subscribers in the last quarter. Disney stock is trading lower now than it was in August 2014.

Obviously, not all of the financial struggles are the result of Disney’s political posturing, though it certainly hasn’t helped. However, the reputational damage is entirely self-inflicted. Disney declared war on the government of Florida and one of the most popular GOP politicians in the country at the behest of a small group of loud activists.

Again, that fight was over nothing more than the state of Florida passing a law saying teachers should not be using class time to teach children in the third grade or lower about sexual orientation and gender identity. Disney promised to mobilize its might to fight until the law was repealed or struck down. Disney burned its credibility among half the country, all to demand that first graders be taught about sex changes and sexual preferences.

Maybe Disney simply thought it was too big to feel the consequences of openly declaring that it is allied with the most deranged left-wing activists. Or maybe Disney didn’t realize this political fight would be that big of a deal. Either way, the company did lasting damage to its image, all for a position that most people think is absurd. Disney has earned any and all financial struggles now and in the future because it brought this entire controversy on itself.
