Former President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline was obvious during his presidency to anyone who watched him, except apparently to liberal journalists such as CNN’s Jake Tapper.
Tapper is releasing a book coauthored with Axios’s Alex Thompson called Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again. The press release for the book says, “What you will learn makes President Biden’s decision to run for reelection seem shockingly narcissistic, self-delusional, and reckless — a desperate bet that went bust — and part of a larger act of extended public deception that has few precedents.”
Except you, dear reader, will probably not learn that. Chances are you already know that. To most of us with eyes, we could see that Biden was not up to the job and his brain was slipping. He spent the 2020 campaign hiding in his basement to avoid unscripted interactions. The few times he emerged, he was either married to his teleprompter or offering such wisdom as “We have to take care of the cure. That will make the problem worse no matter what.”
Just two months into the job, Biden couldn’t even remember the name of his defense secretary, Lloyd Austin. “I want to thank Sec-… the … the former general … I keep calling him ‘General … My … My uhh … The guy who runs that outfit over there.” It only got worse from there, as Biden called out to dead people at speeches, sounded increasingly incoherent off-teleprompter, and claimed he had cancer in addition to claiming that his administration “ended cancer as we know it,” among multiple other brain lapses.
Everyone knew Biden couldn’t function. Democrats and their activist celebrities admitted behind the scenes that Biden’s brain was fried. Robert Hur’s report detailed that Biden’s memory was gone, saying he couldn’t remember when he was vice president, what year his son died, or details about the Afghanistan withdrawal of which he was in charge. The Justice Department even buried the audio of that interview with the special counsel to avoid further scrutiny.

Jake Tapper was apparently one of the only people who didn’t know. With righteous indignation, he attacked Lara Trump for pointing out Biden’s decline, claiming Biden just had a stutter that hadn’t presented itself his entire public life and that she should be ashamed for making children who stutter feel bad. Tapper apparently only discovered Biden’s mental decline when Thompson brought him on to help sell the book. During the election, Tapper was a cog in the media machine covering up Biden’s decline.
We don’t need a pretentious book from liberal media acting as if they suddenly discovered the cover-up of Biden’s health because we sat through their participation in it. Tapper is five years too late for the party and is only here conveniently after the 2024 elections so he can try and win conservative goodwill with no real consequences to his network and his Democratic Party team.
