Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has a new campaign manager as his presidential bid stalls in the polls.

DeSantis has tapped his gubernatorial chief of staff, James Uthmeier, for the top campaign position, replacing Generra Peck, who will now be his chief strategist.

RON DESANTIS ACKNOWLEDGES TRUMP'S 2020 ELECTION DEFEAT: 'OF COURSE HE LOST'

"James Uthmeier has been one of Gov. DeSantis's top advisers for years, and he is needed where it matters most: working hand in hand with Generra Peck and the rest of the team to put the governor in the best possible position to win this primary and defeat Joe Biden," DeSantis campaign spokesman Andrew Romeo told the Washington Examiner.

DeSantis previously promoted digital director Ethan Eilon to deputy campaign manager last month after he fired roughly 40% of his original staff amid concerns about his spending and fundraising, in addition to his polling more than an average of 30 percentage points behind former President Donald Trump. David Polyansky will now be deputy campaign manager.

"David Polyansky will also be a critical addition to the team given his presidential campaign experience in Iowa and work at Never Back Down," Romeo said. "We are excited about these additions as we continue to spread the governor's message across the country. It's time to reverse our nation's decline and revive America's future."

Uthmeier told the Messenger on Tuesday that “people have written Gov. DeSantis’s obituary many times.”

“From his race against establishment primary candidate Adam Putnam to his victory over legacy media-favored candidate Andrew Gillum [in 2018] to his 20-point win over Charlie Crist [in 2022], Gov. DeSantis has proven that he knows how to win," he said. "He’s breaking records on fundraising and has a supporting super PAC with $100 million in the bank and an incredible ground game. Get ready.”
