Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is beating President Joe Biden in key 2024 battleground states such as Arizona and Georgia, according to new polling.

Public Opinion Strategies polls showed DeSantis leading Biden by a margin of 4% in Arizona, polling at 47% with Biden taking 43%. The same poll shows Biden leading both former President Donald Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence.

Arizona voters have opted out of strongly supporting Trump for the GOP candidate, with 51% to 47% agreeing with the statement, “There is no way I would ever vote to elect Donald Trump as president.”

Among registered Georgia voters, a poll by the same company showed DeSantis winning 45% over Biden’s 42%. Biden held a slight lead over Trump, 44% to 43%, respectively.

Both polls were conducted from 500 voters, with the partisan makeup of the sample at 40% Republican and 36% Democrat.

DeSantis outnumbered Biden and Trump in another swing state, Pennsylvania, according to a Public Opinion Strategies poll last month obtained by McClatchyDC. Pennsylvania voters favored DeSantis to Biden 45% to 42%, with Trump falling behind the current president 42% to 46%.

While DeSantis and Trump battle for red state voters' approval, the focus has turned to which candidate could win over the swing state voters as well.

During a phone call with donors and supporters of DeSantis, who is expected to announce his candidacy next week, he said there are only three credible candidates in the 2024 race, according to the New York Times.

“Biden, Trump, and me,” DeSantis said. “And I think of those three, two have a chance to get elected president — Biden and me, based on all the data in the swing states, which is not great for the former president and probably insurmountable because people aren’t going to change their view of him.”
