Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is increasingly unpopular with national female voters, with new polling not offering any signs of his campaign gaining on former President Donald Trump.

A survey from Fairleigh Dickinson University shows DeSantis with 11% support in the primaries among women, compared to the current Republican front-runner Trump at 52% with women despite his various legal battles and his sitting on the cusp of a fourth indictment.

Trailing behind the top two presidential hopefuls is former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who holds 6% of female support, followed by former Vice President Mike Pence at 5%. Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, the only woman candidate in the very crowded Republican presidential race, has 3% support among women. Surging in the polls, GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy gathered 3% of the support from women. Five other candidates fell below 3%, and 16% of women voters are unsure of who they would support.

"Right now, visibility is the name of the game in the Republican primary. Candidates can’t break out unless they can get media coverage, and Trump is sucking all of the air out of the room,” said Dan Cassino, the director of the poll and a professor of government and politics at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Trump has been indicted in Florida, Manhattan, and now Washington, D.C., this month and is being investigated on several other fronts, with an expected indictment in Georgia over alleged interference in the state's 2020 election results coming as soon as next week.

DeSantis's stringent abortion policies may be contributing to his unfavorableness among women after he signed into law one of the nation's toughest abortion bans in April. Around the time he signed the strict abortion ban in his state, a University of North Florida poll showed that 75% of voters either "somewhat" or "strongly opposed" a six-week ban, including 61% of Republican voters.

Polling for Trump, on the other hand, shows women are largely behind his huge primary lead. A poll from the Daily Mail released Wednesday shows that the former president is far ahead of the Florida governor in several battleground states.
