The Denver Police Department said 10 people, including the suspect, were shot at about 12:30 a.m. on Market Street in Denver, where crowds gathered to celebrate the NBA victory, a first for the Nuggets.

All nine of the gunshot victims, as well as the suspect, were transported to a hospital, Denver police spokesman Doug Schepman told reporters early Tuesday.
As of 4:10 a.m. Tuesday, three gunshot victims are in critical condition. The remaining victims, including the shooter, are believed to have non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
"This is a complex, ongoing investigation in its early stages. Preliminary info indicates multiple shots were fired during an altercation involving several individuals. Updates will be provided as they become available," Denver police tweeted.
Schepman said authorities took the suspect in custody "pretty quickly" due to the large police presence in the area.
“It did occur in the area in which we saw our largest crowd gather earlier in the night,” Schepman said when asked whether the shooting was connected to the celebrations.
