Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) said the trademark of her insult to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is going toward merchandise to fund other Democratic candidates’ campaigns and “save democracy.”

Crockett appeared on ABC’s The View on Thursday to address her recent trademark of the phrase “bleach-blonde bad-built butch body,” which she made in reference to Greene during a hearing earlier this month. According to Crockett, there was allegedly a “demand” for the phrase, so her campaign filed the trademark last week.

“I’m a business major who also is a lawyer, so the two things came together. So this is about making sure that we can raise the moneys. It’s so that I can help save our democracy. My money goes to front liners. People that are in fights to make sure that we can take the House. We’ve seen that the House has been run like a circus,” Crockett said. “We need Hakeem Jefferies as speaker of the House, and so if [Republicans] lose the House, I’m just going to blame it on Marjorie.”

Former U.S. Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn received an endorsement from Crockett amid his campaign in Maryland. There are 21 other candidates running for Rep. John Sarbanes’s (D-MD) seat since he announced he will retire. His 3rd Congressional District is decidedly Democratic-leaning and is expected to go to a Democratic candidate despite Sarbanes losing steam in recent years. In 2020, he won by over 69% of the vote, which diminished to 60% in 2022. Sarbanes has been in office since 2007 and faced Democratic challengers in nearly every primary election.

According to Crockett, President Joe Biden could be doing a better job of getting credit for the passed legislation in order to improve his campaign strategy. She lamented that Biden won’t “slow [bills] down to make sure he put his name on it.”

Previously, Crockett cited celebrities in popular media pulling for former President Donald Trump as an influence on voters despite rampant misinformation that only confuses voters. She attempted to dismiss the polls that show Trump in the lead in some swing states while on The View.

Crockett is a first-term representative after serving a single term in the Texas House. She has been outspoken in her disdain over an impeachment inquiry into Biden.
